Alright, another Wednesday, which means another short story (very short) and quote. Back into space we go!
He huffed up the hill in the thin air, his rover sporting its broken wheel a kilometer behind him. Several kilometers past that, his ship waiting, almost blending into the red-hued dust.
He should be heading back, but it drew him, the top of the hill, the position to offer the greatest view of the area. He could afford a few more steps, he thought, just a few more, and then he’d start back.
Then he reached the top, and he saw. The quote came to him unbidden, even as he cheapened the vision with snapshots from his bulky camera:
“The best part of beauty is that which no picture can express.” – Francis Bacon.
He had a long journey back, but duty done, he decided to stay a few more moments.
And that’s it, see you next week.
